In February 2001, St. John’s experienced its second fire in 51 years, completely destroying the sanctuary and one-half of the educational wing of the church. After seeing the advantages of a design/build concept, the church decided to rebuild this 35,000-square-foot project. The project had challenges, one being the design process working with the existing educational wing and the historical center tower which had survived two fires.
