Chief Executive Officer Bobby E. Matthews founded Matthews Construction Co., Inc. in 1955 in Conover, North Carolina.  The Conover corporate office still remains as the company's birthplace and headquarters. Continual growth through market expansion has led to the opening of a full service office in Charlotte, North Carolina in October of 2000.  As CEO, Bobby Matthews remains active in company operations while his two sons, Gary and Andy, serve as President and Executive Vice President, respectively.  Matthews Construction  continues as a family owned company built on the principles of honesty and integrity which insures every client the guarantee of quality workmanship with emphasis on schedule and budget. 

We believe the greatest asset of our company is its people, who now number over one hundred fifty field professionals and engineers.  The average employee has been with the Matthews organization for over fifteen years.  It is these dedicated employees who have made us one of the fastest growing general contractors in the Southeast United States.  Matthews Construction continually retains an in-house staff of engineers and skilled craftsmen who understand all aspects of a project from design through construction and delivery to our clients.
